This might not sound that great, and some days you’re late for work, but make a point of it to always make your bed. You’ll have accomplished something for the day and your bedroom will look neater.

  1. No laptop in the bedroom

Keep the bedroom for bedroom-stuff, such as, you know, sleeping. This habit can also be applied to cell phones and TVs. 1) You’ll sleep better. 2) You’ll give yourself a much-needed digital break every day.

 

  1. Turn off notifications

Stop letting your digital life interfere with your actual life. 1) You’ll be less distracted from the tasks at hand. 2) You’ll enjoy more time for your life. Feeling daring? Try switching your digital life off for a few days.

 

  1. Take 15 sips of water

A very easy way to get into the habit of drinking more water is to take 15 small sips every time you want to drink. 1) You are mostly made of water so you should fill up. 2) Water can increase your energy levels, prevent cramps, help you lose weight, and boost your immune system.

Keep moisturising sunscreen lotion in your car and apply it throughout the day. 1) You’ll reduce the chances of getting skin cancer and premature ageing. 2) If you choose the right kind, your skin will be radiant.

 

  1. No more snoozing

Who are you kidding anyway? If you can sleep for 10 more minutes, just set your alarm for later. 1) By getting up straight away, you’ll be more prepared for the day as you’ll have the time to get everything done. 2) You won’t be late for work anymore or always be in a rush.

 

  1. Start making takeaways

Yes, you’re tired on a Friday night, or your Tuesday meeting ran late, but cooking is therapeutic and will help you relax, and you know what goes into the meal. So instead of getting regular takeaways, save it for special occasions. 1) You’ll save money. 2) You’ll improve your cooking skills and be healthier.

Even if it’s 5 minutes a day, make sure you take time for yourself. Take a longer bath (or just lock yourself in the bathroom to read if you want to save water), go for a walk, get up earlier and enjoy the quiet house, or visit your favourite coffee house. You’ll feel happier and manage your feelings better and you’ll be more productive.
